About our Club

Founded in 1949 by a dedicated group of hobbyists, the GERMANY PHILATELIC SOCIETY has become a community of collectors, exhibitors, jurors and postal historians for philatelic material of 'Germany & Areas', or related in some way in history to Germany. Our members are located worldwide, albeit our society is North American-based.

For Chicago & Suburbs, CHICAGOLAND CHAPTER 5 is the local chapter for the Society, albeit members of Chapter 5 do not have to be members of the national Germany Philatelic Society. Meetings are once a month for social activities and special programs on a wide variety of subjects. Everyone from novice to advanced collector is invited to attend the meetings and consider joining.
